Mayor Vivian Livingood has been working diligently to acquire a cell tower for the Town of Gilbert. Contacts have been providing information on how to obtain a communication tower so that cell coverage will be available in the area. Recent flooding, power outages, and need for emergency contacts has made it more prevalent that the town needs better communication via cell phones. The area is growing with tourist influx and mobile phones are not working. Residents pay for service of usage but cannot use the phones in most locations of the area.
The most recent update is wonderful news for Gilbert! AT&T is currently surveying the area and gathering historic information for a tower in the Gilbert area. This will be a great day for our community.
